Babington Academy
Babington Academy
Welcome from the Principal
At Babington we are driven by a moral commitment to ensure that we make a profound positive difference to all who come through the school gates, andto ensurethat our students and staff reach their full potential. We work tirelessly to educate, support andinspire our community, thereby ensuringthat everyone aspires to and, indeed, achieves success. We are very proud of our diverse and inclusive school.
Situated in North-West Leicester, we are a larger than average secondary school proudly serving students from across the city. We support many schools locally, nationally and internationally and are proud that we have seven members of staff that are accredited as Specialist Leaders of Education. Graded as `outstanding' by Ofsted at our last inspection, we feel that we have continued on a trajectory of improvement since the inspection, celebrating significant improvements in outcomes, particularly over the last three years.
We are designated as a Flagship School through the Inclusion Quality Mark. This isan award which celebrates our inclusive ethos and provision, which is exemplified by our Designated Specialist Provision (DSP) for speech, language, communication and autism; we are proud of this provision and the range of other awardswe have achieved, including recently being accredited with the World Class Education Quality Mark, the School Mental Health Award which is delivered by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools, and the National Online School Safety Award.
Whilst we are very proud of these awards and achievements, what makes us most proud are our amazing students and their achievements. Our students leave Babington with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to thrive in a challenging and ever-changing world.
We support our students to develop the Babington DNA ‘PROUD’ qualities which ensures our students leave us with the emotional and intellectual literacy and resiliencethatthey need to be effective and active global citizens. We strive for them to leavewith qualifications which give them choices, alongside a desire to be life-long learners.

South Wigston
High SchoolSouth Wigston
High SchoolWelcome from the Principal
Situated in the heart of South Wigston, we are an oversubscribed 11 -16 academy proudly serving students from our local community and surrounding areas, including Leicester City. I’m delighted to join SWHS full time as Principal. As Director of Education at LwLAT, I’ve had the opportunity to work with the team at SWHS and to get to know the wonderful staff and pupils. There are many strengths we can build on and successes we can celebrate as we continue our improvement journey. I’ve had the privilege of working as a leader in education for nearly 20 years, with a focus on developing schools in challenging circumstances. As an experienced Vice-Principal and Principal, I’ve been able to improve outcomes and Ofsted ratings in several schools, at the same time as making them happier places to learn and work. I’m committed to achieving this at South Wigston High School. From experience, I know that children thrive when school, parents and carers work together effectively. We all want the best for children and young people, so effective partnership with families is a key priority for me. If you are already part of the SWHS family, joining us soon, or just visiting the website to find out more, you are very welcome.

Woodstock Primary Academy
Woodstock Primary Academy
Welcome from the Principal
I am extremely proud to be the Principal of Woodstock Primary Academy. As someone who was born and went to school in the city of Leicester; attending Buswell Lodge Primary and Babington College, I feel my experience of this unique multicultural city has allowed me to shape our journey of school improvement. Having worked with children for many years in all areas of primary education, including as Deputy Principal here at Woodstock since January 2018, I am keen to ensure that we equip all our pupils with the necessary skills, knowledge and personal attributes that will enable them to be ready to succeed at each step of their educational journey and their life in modern Britain.
All children learn differently and they require a range of different experiences and support systems to allow them to engage in learning and school life and, believing that everyone’s welcome at Woodstock; as a team of pupils, parents, carers and committed and dedicated staff, we have the power to ensure that we make school the best for everybody. Everyone's welcome at Woodstock.
Woodstock Primary Academy is a very special place and, I am certain, you will feel the warmth of mutual respect, team ethos, high expectations and the drive to be the best we can be from the moment you start your journey of learning with us. We are one team. We are Team Woodstock.
