Poetry Slam 2026

We are busing planning our 3rd Annual Poetry Slam for Friday 16th January 2026 taking place at South Wigston High School from 2:00 -4:00pm.
What is a Poetry Slam?
Put simply it's a competition!
We offer the opportunity for learners of all ages to participate in the Poetry Slam.
What's the format?
Either write your own piece of poetry, find a poem you like and perform it in front of others.
You can perform individually, as a duo or as a group.
What do I / we win?
We have the AMAZING Author Nathanael Lessore being our guest judge this year.

BEST SOLO PERFORMER
BEST DUET PERFORMANCE
BEST GROUP PERFORMANCE

Pre purchase books by Nathanael Lessore
Our local independent book seller has created a link for us to share in case any of our learners would like to purchase a book by our Special Guest Judge - Nathanael Lessore
There is a mandatory section where Parents/Carers have to enter their child's name and school, the books will be delivered on the day of the event, learners can have their book signed. There is also a recommended reading age in the description of each book so parents/carers can see which books are best for which age groups.
